ABOUT IBWU

Who We Are

India Baptist women’s Union(IBWU) is a registered body formed in the year 1959. Affiliated to Asia Baptist women’s Union and Baptist World Alliance Women’s Department.

Brings together Baptist women across India to promote unity, spiritual growth, and service. Born out of a vision for oneness among diverse communities, IBWU continues to strengthen fellowship among women across regions, cultures, and traditions.

Through prayer, leadership initiatives, seminars, and community outreach, IBWU empowers women to deepen their faith and actively serve their churches and society. The union remains committed to nurturing spiritual life, building meaningful connections, and encouraging women to contribute with compassion and purpose.

What We Do

Empowering Women

We are empowered to do good works. It conducts workshops and seminars on relevant issues and practical strategies to empower women in transformational mission that advances the gospel with passion and purpose.

Spiritual Growth

The union remains committed to nurturing spiritual life ,consecrating time for reflection and prayer. Also strives to spiritual renewal and unity among believers from diverse cultures and contexts and building meaningful connections .

Leadership Training

IBWU organizes workshops and seminars to build young leaders to serve and to build the kingdom of God. It helps with a foundation in spiritual formation and to grow deeper relationship with Christ, while developing practical skills to lead and serve others effectively.

Community Services

IBWU has outreach initiatives , extends support during times of need such as natural calamities like earth quakes, floods etc and also during health crises times, during the time of Covid. Also it has initiated women helping women fund raising effort to reach out to the needs of the communities who are facing violence and difficult situations.

Aims and Objective

To realise and give expression to the essential oneness in the Lord Jesus Christ of the Churches of Baptist faith and order.
To present churches of Baptist faith and order in all matters where united action is called for
To promote a spiritual fellowship and partnership among the members to strengthen their faith and witness.
To give expression to their point of view or moral and social issues both at National and International levels.
To nourish and deepen the spiritual life of persons, family and churches under their jurisdiction.
To promote the obligations of Christian stewardship among its member bodies.

Young Women's Leadership Training (YWLT)

Every Christian leader in every generation must return to the measures GOD uses to evaluate our leadership and the values of GOD’s kingdom. It defines a faithful leader by who she is becoming and by what is happening in the lives of the people she shepherds.

1st - 3rd Oct, 2024

15th general Assembly

IBWU conducts General Assembly once in every five years. The recent 15th IBWU General Assembly was held at Chennai 1st to 3rd October, 2024. India consists of 28 states with various languages and cultural values.

27th April, 2025

1st President's Summit

The purpose and objective of organising this summit are:
To bring closer relations and understanding between the member bodies.To have fellowship and to exchange ideas on ministry.
